And Then We Snapped - Week #4

Just another week, nothing special, which is more than okay.

"The creative process is a process of surrender, not control."
- Julia Cameron

“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the disheveled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”
― W.B. Yeats

“Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.”
― John Wooden

“I believe in the power of the imagination to remake the world, to release the truth within us, to hold back the night, to transcend death, to charm motorways, to ingratiate ourselves with birds, to enlist the confidences of madmen.”
― J.G. Ballard

“Stuff your eyes with wonder, he said, live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.”
― Ray Bradbury

“Sometimes I speak to men and women just as a little girl speaks to her doll. She knows, of course, that the doll does not understand her, but she creates for herself the joy of communication through a pleasant and conscious self-deception.”
― Arthur Schopenhauer

“Time passes too fast.
Like a hummingbird flying by,
it’s just a blur to my eyes.”

And Then We Snapped - Week #3

This week started with Piper heading back to school and ended with me taking a solo trip to Northern Minnesota to photograph a wedding. There was a little bit of illness mid week but all and all it was a great seven days.

"There's a light inside us all
It only shines as bright as we are"
-Swell Season

“And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been”
― Rainer Maria Rilke

“It's either the flu or love... The symptoms are the same.”
― Charles M. Schulz

Poor Dex! We decided to take a bike ride to get some ice cream tonight. Once we sat down to eat it Dex started acting strange and wouldn't eat his ice cream. My motherly instinct told me something bad is about to happen. My fears were confirmed when we arrived home and he threw up all over the steps from the garage to the house. All I can say is thank goodness he made it home and didn't get sick in the bike trailer!

“I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?”
― John Lennon

“I was born to catch dragons in their dens / And pick flowers / To tell tales and laugh away the morning / To drift and dream like a lazy stream / And walk barefoot across sunshine days.”
― James Kavanaugh

Minnesota - You're the gateway to my soul.
You are in my blood, soil's thicker than mud, in the land where the waters roll.
-Northern Lights

"I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more"
-Christina Perri

Then We Snapped - Week #2

This was Piper's last week of summer before school starts. We tried to fit in as much summer this week as we could. Trips to the park, slumber party with cousins, hot air balloon festival, and running around and being crazy in our yard.

“Embrace the glorious mess that you are" - Elizabeth Gilbert

“You're only given a spark of madness. You musn't lose it.”
― Robin Williams

“Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather. ”
― John Ruskin

“Why can't you fly now, mother?"
"Because I am grown up, dearest. When people grow up they forget the way."
"Why do they forget the way?"
"Because they are no longer gay and innocent and heartless. It is only the gay and innocent and heartless who can fly.”
― J.M. Barrie

"Mom! Did you know that having a little brother can actually be fun!!"
Piper

365 Day 227

“There is no beauty without some strangeness”
― Edgar Allan Poe

“I’m not sure what I’ll do, but— well, I want to go places and see people. I want my mind to grow. I want to live where things happen on a big scale.”
― F. Scott Fitzgerald

Then We Snapped - Week 1 (and a few extra)

So I have joined an amazing group of photographers who are also taking daily photos. I will now be blogging my 365 project once a week in a blog circle. A normal week will run from Sunday to Saturday but this week is a little different because I had to start where July left off.

My first week of this new little project started in Atlanta Georgia celebrating my Sister's wedding and ended back in Sioux Falls at the fair! hope you enjoy:)

“We're all a little weird and life's a little weird. And when we find someone who's weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness call it love.”
― Dr. Seuss

“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”
― Sam Levenson

“The world spins. We stumble on. It is enough.”
— Colum McCann

“Love doesn't make the world go around, it just makes the ride worthwhile.”
― Franklin P. Jones

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
― Marcel Proust

“To a young heart everything is fun.”
― Charles Dickens

Its not the chase that I love
Its me following you.
-The Avett Brothers

“When the weather is hot, keep a cool mind. When the weather is cold, keep a warm heart.”
― Ajahn Brahm

“You may not remember the time you let me go first.
Or the time you dropped back to tell me it wasn't that far to go.
Or the time you waited at the crossroads for me to catch up.
You may not remember any of those, but I do and this is what I have to say to you:

Today, no matter what it takes,
we ride home together.”
― Brian Andreas

Stitch Fix #3

...and #2.

I just got my 3rd stitch fix!! I totally failed and never blogged my second fix so at the end of this post I give you a peek at what my second fix looked like.

For those of you not familiar with Stitch Fix it is an online personal styling website. You go online fill out a style profile and then schedule a Fix. You receive a box with 5 items personally picked out for you along with a style card for each item. You pay for what you keep and if you keep everything you get 25% off. If you decide to send everything back you pay a $20.00 styling fee. You can read more about it here

This Fix was great as always and so much fun to get in the mail. I did not keep everything from this fix but the things I did keep I love and will wear a ton.

Pamelo, Brook Dot Print Tie-Waist Top:
I can't say there was really anything I liked about this top. It was boxy and unflattering. I'm also not a huge fan of anything that ties in front or polka dots. I sent it back!

Daniel Rainn, Taya flutter Sleeve Silk Blouse:
I liked this top. Its light, the color is pretty and it goes with just about any bottom. It was a keep.

Daniel Rainn, Prylin Printed Pintuck Detailed Blouse:
The print on this top was the first thing I noticed when I opened my box. I loved it so I really wanted this to fit. Unfortunately it made me look boxy and made my arms and chest look huge. I sent it back:(
Fun2Fun, Nannette Swiss Dot Sleeve Blouse:
Love this top! It was probably one of my favorite things in this fix. I love the color I love the fit, I will be wearing this a ton.

Mavi, Yasmin Skinny Jean:
I was so worried when I saw a pair of skinny jeans in this fix but the fit so good! How does my stylist to this!! They have lots of stretch to them and I need to track down another pair ASAP!!

As I mentioned before I never blogged my 2nd fix. So here are my style cards and some crappy phone photos of what I received. Yes I kept everything from that fix...it was so good!

Feel free to check out my first fix.

If you would like to schedule your own fix be sure to sign up here. It is so much fun!!
