Photo Challenge Anything but a Face

You may remember this shoot I did with baby Austin. This was one of the photos from that shoot. Wedding rings on babies toes is not something I would normally do. I think that it can sometimes end up looking a little cheesy, but it was something the family requested. I was actually really happy with the outcome. I liked the feel of the photo and I also liked that you could see Austin's little hands too. This weeks I Heart Face challenge is Anything But A Face. The first photo I thought of was this one. This little photo taught me to at least try things once. If you don't like the outcome you never have to try it again but you could really miss out on something beautiful if you don't try.

I Heart Faces Fix it Friday

With all this extra time on my hands due to my broken foot I decided to participate in a little photo challenge. The web-blog I Heart Faces has a challenge each Friday called Fix It Friday. You take someone's photo and edit it how ever you want. The top photo is the original and the bottom is my edit.

My Edit

I use Lightroom for the majority of my processing. This was a beautiful photo to begin with so I really didn't have to do much work:)

She's 11 Months Old!

I can't believe Piper is already 11 months old!
Her 10th month of life was pretty exciting. She moved to Sioux Falls and now has a giant play room. She started brushing her own hair and she knows that her socks go on her feet but can't quite figure out how to put them on. She can say her own name, but it sounds more like Baba then Piper.

She loves riding on her little car, pulling all her books off her book shelf, dancing, and playing with mama's balloon.

She's getting to be such a big girl!

My New Footwear

Yesterday afternoon while Piper was napping and Josh was shoveling the driveway I decided to break my fifth metatarsal.

Both Josh and I thought it was just a sprain, but as my foot swelled, the pain seemed to be in one small spot, and I had a hard time bearing weight on my entire foot we realized it might be a little more serious. We went to urgent care tonight and sure enough I snapped my bone right in half. The doctor wasn't sure how I managed to even walk in the door of the clinic. I have to meet with an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to find out if I need surgery.

In other news I also get to meet with an oral surgeon tomorrow to find out about getting some oral surgery done. I had some dental problems while pregnant with Piper and have been putting off surgery until I was done nursing. With Piper starting to wean it's become time for me to start taking care of myself.

Talk about a double whammy :/

Silly Little Monkey

Piper loves books so much. She's loved books her whole life (all 11 months of it) and now she's figured out how to look at books all on her own. I always wanted to make sure my children enjoyed reading and it seems that love for books has come naturally to this little gal.

Girl With a Curl

There was a little girl who had a little curl
Right on the side of her head;
When she was good, she was very, very good,
And when she was bad she was horrid.

Recent Reads

I wasn't real wild about this book. It did have it's moments and Elizabeth Gilbert did make some good points. I would only recommend reading this if you really really liked Eat Pray Love.

Why have I never read To Kill a Mockingbird?! I seriously have an all time favorite book!

I can't believe I'm only one book away from the end of my Harry Potter experience. SAD!

Great book! There were some parts that did drag a little for me but they were worth it in the end.

All Moved In

We've officially moved to Sioux Falls. We love our new home and our new town. Our move went about as smoothly as it could have and we are settling in nicely. We did forget the hardware and screws for Piper's crib, our kitchen table and our futon at my parents house. We've made do by having piper sleep in a pack and play, eating at our breakfast bar (without stools) and relaxing in our living room chairs instead of the futon. We've planned a trip to my parents house next week to pick up the last few items we've left behind.

It feels so nice to sit down and eat a meal together in our own home.
We are so happy to be a family again!

Wordless Wednesday

We're Home Owners Again!!!

Josh, Piper and I are moving to Sioux Falls tomorrow!!!

We bought a house in West Sioux Falls. I have to say this home buying experience went way smoother than our last home buying experience. I just pray the move goes smoothly. I can not wait until we are all settled in. I am so ready to have our family under on roof in the same town.
