27 Weeks

Dex had a very fun week!

He's loving creeping all over the place and getting into Piper's toys.
He can now crawl over to me when he needs to cuddle.
He also attended his first wedding and wedding Dance this weekend.
He also loved playing with his Baba this weekend.
He also had his 6 month appointment last Wednesday. His doctor said he's perfect. He's spot on with all his development and he loved flirting with the nurses. He weighs 17.3 lbs and is in the 50% and he is 27 and 1/2 inches long and in the 85%. He's growing and changing so much!

Art Day

Piper and I did a lot of art today. I had promised her we could go to Barnes and Noble this morning but poor little Dexter was not feeling well. He had a ton of shots yesterday and he was super wiped out this morning.

Piper and I did a couple of different projects. We made microwave puff paint, a project that we found in the June/July issue of family fun.

Ingredients for paint-
1 tablespoon flour
1tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon backing powder
2 or 3 teaspoons of water
several drops of food coloring

Stir the paint until it's smooth and then paint! When she was done I'd pop her pictures in the microwave for 20 seconds. She loved the texture of her paintings once they came out of the microwave.

Piper has also really been into chickens and roosters lately (I'm not sure why). We made a super simple hand print and chicken craft.

We both had lots of fun keeping busy with our little projects today!

26 Weeks and 6 months!

Dexter is half a year old and is getting into everything!!! He also can hardly lay still for his photo.

He also had a major success when it comes to eating today.  For the past month we have been trying to get him to eat rice cereal. He would spit most of it out, and over the last month he's maybe swallowed 5 spoonfuls of the mush. Today we tried squash and he loved it! He ate so much of it!
Baby boy's 6 month appointment is tomorrow so I will try to post all his stats!

Looking Up

We've been looking up to the sky a lot the last few days.

Yesterday we were able to watch the Sioux Falls Air show from the airplane hangar where Josh works. It was fun to get to see the Blue Angels from a different angle. As you can see Piper also ate some ice cream while watching the planes fly.

Today we went to Navy day at the zoo. The Navy Leap Frogs parachuted into the zoo and then met with the kids afterward.

I have to share one funny thing Piper said today at the zoo. We ran into her teachers from zoo camp and they were asking her about her baby brother. Her response was "That's baby Dexter, and I have a boy named Dada too."

Mini Kofoed Reunion

My cousin Sarah and her little girl Zi made the trip to Mapleton this weekend all the way from Denver. I haven't seen my cousin since my Wedding and I have never met her daughter so I knew I had to make the trip over to Minnesota to meet up with them. Piper and Zi had so much fun playing together.

Piper and Dex also had a great time playing with all their extended family. Here are a few photos from our quick trip to Minnesota.

The Jolly Green Giant

We stopped to say Hi to the Green Giant today.

Piper also found a flower and really wanted Dexter smell it.

Road trips with the kids are not always easy but little stops like this make things better for all of us:)

25 Weeks

Our baby boy is officially on the move.

If given enough time he can roll and crawl to what ever he wants.

Today Piper and I reorganized the playroom and sorted out the books and toys that Dexter can play with.
As you can see it's getting harder to take his photo.
His next task...conquer the stairs. Eek!

Brookings Art Festival

Today my Parents, Piper, Dexter and I headed up to Brookings for their Summer Arts Festival.

We had so much fun! There were lots of fun children activities like spin art cookies and frisbees, and face painting. What my kids loved the most was the music. Piper just wanted to sit by the stage and color in her note book so that's what we did most of the afternoon.

It was a fun day and a great way to top off my birthday weekend!

I Turned 30 Yesterday

I had a wonderful 30th birthday celebrating with my family and eating ice cream cake with Piper.

Thanks to everyone who made my 30th such a great day!

Also thanks mom for taking lots of photos of my special day!
