The First Chalk Adventure

Today while at Target I picked a box of side walk chalk for only $1.25.

This was going to be Piper's first experience with chalk and I knew she'd be a little confused.
First off I have to say how impressed I was with my husbands chalk drawing abilities.
Piper started to get the hang of it. She mostly scribbled behind herself alternating her right and left hands.

I think she ended up with more chalk on herself than on the pavement.
It actually kept her attention for a good half hour before she decided to crawl away.
It was a fun first chalk adventure and I'm looking forward to many more.

Bows!

Piper loves her hair things. She could sit and sort through her little baggie of hair clips for hours. In the real world they only stay in her hair for a matter of minutes before she rips them out, but when she's sorting she loves to pick out certain ones to put in her hair.
Each time she hands me one she says tit tu (thank you) or bow.

She picks out the large bows for me to wear.
It's a very relaxed activity and great for right before bed time.

Janelle and Nick's Wedding

I recently shot my first wedding since moving back to the Midwest. It's something I've been really excited about. I think weddings are my favorite type of photography. It's nerve racking, you never know what to expect no matter how much you prepare yourself, and anything can happen.

Janelle and Nick had planned an outdoor wedding at the Waseca County Fair Grounds where they had met as teenagers. Unfortunately it rained all day and it didn't let up. They ended up having to have their wedding in one of the barns on the fair grounds. We also had to take the majority of the photos in the barn. I have to say the bride was so relaxed about the whole thing. I had so much fun at this wedding! I hope you enjoy the photos. You can find more on my facebook page!

The Many Adventures of Miss Piper

Piper had an extremely busy week last week. We made a trip back to Minnesota so I could take some pictures and Piper could spend time with her Grandparents.

She got to go for a ride in her Grandpa's tractor. It was a little scary at first but it didn't take long for her to get the hang of it.

She got to go to the park with her other Grandpa and had a lot of fun on the swings.

She got to go to the zoo with her Gammy, Mama and Dada. Her favorite animal at the zoo was the Puffin.

She also got to visit her Grandma a school and see the baby chicks in her class room.

Piper always has so much fun!

Sneak Peek

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while. I just returned from another long trip to Minnesota. I will blog more about all of Piper's adventures on that trip real soon!

The main reason I headed back to Minnesota was to take wedding photos! Yep that's right I finally shot a wedding. Here's a quick preview...
It was supposed to be an outdoor wedding but it rained all day. I'll make sure I post some more wedding photos real soon too!

She loves to Swing

The weather in Sioux Falls has been awesome this last week. We finally set up Piper's little swing set. We also have been making lots of trips to the parks.
Piper loves to swing.

In the photo below I'm pretty sure she's signing more.

She cries when ever swinging time is done.
Little does she know how much swinging she'll get to do this summer:)

Baby Marshall

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking newborn photos of my friend Jill's beautiful baby boy. He was so cute and so tiny. Here are some of my favorite photos from the shoot.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

I hope all you mother's out there had a wonderful Mother's Day!!! My mom was able to make a trip over to see us. It was so much fun to get to spend Mother's day with my mother. I haven't been able to do that in years.

I saw this blog post yesterday and I love it! There are so many beautiful photos representing motherhood!

Another great place to find some beautiful mother photos is over at I Heart Faces. The theme this week is motherhood. I decided to share a photo from one of my more recent photo shoots. I love taking pictures of mothers with their children. There is always this bond that is just so evident and it shines through so many of the photos I've taken. I chose this one because I just love how the mother is responding to her son. There's just so much love there.

Make sure to check out all the other great photos at I Heart Faces!
