And Then We Snapped - Week #8

I felt like this week was a bit nonstop. We started by taking a unplanned trip to Wisconsin. Josh's Grandma passed away so we traveled so we could pay our last respects. We ended the week with Touch a Truck and a neighborhood block party.

The thing about chaos, is that while it disturbs us, it too, forces our hearts to roar in a way we secretly find magnificent. - Christopher Poindexter

In other  crazy news, I have been taking photos for 1000 days in a row!! Really crazy when you think about it. It's funny to think that this little guy was still in my belly 1000 days ago. At this moment I have no doubt that 2000 photos in a row is possible!

So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we're together we might as well say:

Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?

Touch A Truck

The kids, my aunt, and I went to Touch A Truck tonight. Touch a Truck is a fun event put on by the parks department, you can check out our last years trip to Touch a Truck here. Piper has a little trouble with all the noise at Touch a Truck and she really hates the sound of hot air balloons firing up. This year she was much more brave than she was last year. She love the ice cream truck and the snow plow with Olaf the snowman on it.

Here are a few photos from tonight's outing.

Camping Trip

Last week we took a little camping trip to Palisades State Park about an half hour out of town. It was so fun. The kids had such a great time and loved everything about it. Sleeping in the tent was a bit interesting. It was Dexter's first time sleeping in a tent and Piper hasn't slept in a tent since she was one. Dexter would not sleep unless we let him hold a flash light. Piper rolled all over the tent in her sleep and by morning she was sleeping by Josh's feet.

It sure felt good to get home and sleep in our beds but we are already planning our next camping trip!

Another week  in the books. We took the kids on a little camping trip at the end of the week and we had so much fun. I can not wait to head out on another camping trip with the kiddos.

And Then We Snapped - Week #6

Well we had a weather change this week. It got cold and it got dark. I am so not ready to start kicking up my ISO's but I know the time is near when there won't be much daylight. We still managed to get out doors and play, we just had to dress a little warmer.

“I have an idea that the only thing which makes it possible to regard this world we live in without disgust is the beauty which now and then men create out of the chaos. The pictures they paint, the music they compose, the books they write, and the lives they lead. Of all these the richest in beauty is the beautiful life. That is the perfect work of art.”
― W. Somerset Maugham

Yes that is the toilet seat in the back of the car. We are in the process of potty training again.

And Then We Snapped - Week #5

This week we spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying that last little bits of summer. Josh and I also took a camping trip without the kids out the the Badlands. I also shot an amazing wedding while we were out there.

I have to say I'm looking forward to these next couple of weeks! I truly believe that September has the most amazing light!

― A.A. Milne

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
― Mary Oliver

Let sculptors come to the Badlands. Let painters come. But first of all the true architect should come. He who could interpret this vast gift of nature in terms of human habi- tation so that Americans on their own continent might glimpse a new and higher civilization certainly, and touch it and feel it as they lived in it and deserved to call it their own. Yes, I say the aspects of the Dakota Badlands have more spiritual quality to impart to the mind of America than anything else in it made by man's God." Frank Lloyd Wright

“We love because it's the only true adventure.”
― Nikki Giovanni

“Just remember to always be yourself and don’t be afraid to speak your mind or to dream out loud”
― J.A. Redmerski

“A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.”
― Roald Dahl

“Quiet Pride:
There has never been a day when I have not been proud of you, I said to my daughter, though some days I'm louder about other stuff so it's easy to miss that.”
― Brian Andreas
