And Then We Snapped - Week #29

This week was all about fighting cabin fever and finding pockets of light.

and I have nothing else to do,
I sometimes wonder if it's true

And Then We Snapped - Week #28

This week was a bit of a struggle. I'm sick of the gray skies and being stuck inside. I'm bit board with photography this week. I need to do something to shake it up a bit and I'm working on finding inspiration. I know that warm weather would help but right now that doesn't look like an option. The good thing about taking daily photos as long as I have is I know that I will pull out of this funk if I just stick to it! Here are my favorite photos from this past week, some I sought out and some that found me.

“All I’ve ever done is dream. That, and only that, has been the meaning of my existence. The only thing I’ve ever really cared about is my inner life. My greatest griefs faded to nothing the moment I opened the window onto my inner self and lost myself in watching.
I never tried to be anything other than a dreamer. I never paid any attention to people who told me to go out and live. I belonged always to whatever was far from me and to whatever I could never be. Anything that was not mine, however base, always seemed to be full of poetry. The only thing I ever loved was pure nothingness.”
― Fernando Pessoa

365 Day 40

“Time is
Too Slow for those who Wait,
Too Swift for those who Fear,
Too Long for those who Grieve,
Too Short for those who Rejoice;
But for those who Love,
Time is not.”
― Henry van Dyke

"Listen to the wind, it talks.
Listen to the silence, it speaks.
Listen to your heart, it knows.”
-Native American Proverb

“You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness.
You were born with wings.
You are not meant for crawling, so don't.
You have wings.
Learn to use them and fly.”
― Rumi

365 Day 43

“Birds scream at the top of their lungs in horrified hellish rage every morning at daybreak to warn us all of the truth, but sadly we don't speak bird.”
― Kurt Cobain

“If I didn't have my camera to remind me constantly, I am here to do this, I would eventually have slipped away, I think. I would have forgotten my reason to exist.”
― Annie Leibovitz

“Most people are slow to champion love because they fear the transformation it brings into their lives. And make no mistake about it: love does take over and transform the schemes and operations of our egos in a very mighty way.”
― Aberjhani

And Then We Snapped - Week #27

This week we played in the snow, took photos for the kid's Valentines, and enjoyed some almost 50 degree weather.

“Take long walks in stormy weather or through deep snows in the fields and woods, if you would keep your spirits up. Deal with brute nature. Be cold and hungry and weary.”
― Henry David Thoreau

“She always had that about her, that look of otherness, of eyes that see things much too far, and of thoughts that wander off the edge of the world.”
― Joanne Harris

“When red fights with white, pink is always the winner. Let that be a lesson in love.”
― Jarod Kintz

“I was never really insane except upon occasions when my heart was touched.”
― Edgar Allan Poe

“wherever the TV glows, there sits someone who isn't reading.”
― John Irving

“Even in winter, the cold isn't always bitter, and not every day is cruel.”
― Jim Butcher

“It was queer how sometimes a child's innocent eyes can see things that grown men are blind to.”
― George R.R. Martin

And Then We Snapped - Week #26

This week was the last week of January. I have really been trying to push myself with the low light this year and so far I feel I'm succeeding. Here my photos for our very regular winter week.

“It is time for a return to childhood, to simplicity, to running and climbing and laughing in the sunshine, to experiencing happiness instead of being trained for a lifetime of pursuing happiness. It is time to let children be children again.”
― L.R. Knost

“Successful people have libraries. The rest have big screen TVs”
― Jim Rohn

The kids may no longer be babies but they sure love Baby Einstein.

“The mind I love must have wild places.”
― Katherine Mansfield

“What is so marvelous about living today is that it is possible to extend, like a flower, spreading petals in all directions.”
― Carolyn Kizer

“The true secret of happiness lies in the taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.”
― William Morris

“Imagination is the golden-eyed monster that never sleeps. It must be fed; it cannot be ignored.”
― Patricia A. McKillip

“Childhood memories are sometimes covered and obscured beneath the things that come later, like childhood toys forgotten at the bottom of a crammed adult closet, but they are never lost for good.”
― Neil Gaiman

"I'm Princess Rosie, did you know that it is Princess Day today ?"- Piper
